HOW TO GET TO PORTO HELI

The closest International airport to Porto Heli is Eleftherios Venizelos in Athens, this airport opened in March 2001 and is located about 25 kms outside of the centre of Athens in an area called Sparta.

There are several ways that you can travel from the airport to Piraeus to meet with your ferryboat.

Bus

Just outside of the arrivals hall, you will find the bus stop for bus number E96.  This is a direct service to the Port of Piraeus and leaves about every 15 to 20 minutes during the day and about every half hour at night. The bus stops several times on the way and Piraeus harbour is the last stop.  The price of the ticket is €3.10 (At night the price can be slightly more) and is valid for 24 hours. You may use this ticket on the bus, trolley bus or the metro. The trip will take around 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes depending on the time of day and on the traffic.

At the airport you can buy the ticket at the small ticket office located next to the bus stop and for your return journey from Piraeus you buy the ticket also at the ticket office next to the bus stop.

When you get onto the bus you take the ticket which you have bought and you put it in the ticket machine on the bus which will print the date on it.  This is very important as you can be fined for not validating the ticket.

Taxi

You can also take a taxi from the airport to Piraeus. When leaving the airport, please make use of the taxi queue next to Door 3 of the Arrivals Level. Taking a taxi is mostly quicker than the bus (of course dependent on the traffic). Some drivers do the ride in 30 minutes! The price will be about €30 - €35.  You can ask the driver for a price before you set off but this will only be a guide price as they should use their taxi meter for the journey.

From Piraeus Main Harbour

From Piraeus there is a regular ferry service to Porto Heli and there are also the Aegean Flying Dolphins service which is even faster but will be a bit more expensive.

You can find the exact timetables at the ticket offices on the quay, the entrance door of each ferry also displays the time the ferry will leave.

Once you have arranged your flights into Athens let us know and we will check the up to date timetables for the day that you require.
